I remember my first call with Emily and immediately hearing the smile in her voice. Emily’s first impression comes off as warm, genuine, and kind. Meeting her in person only confirmed these things. You could hear the love in her voice as she told me about Travis, told me he was an answered prayer, the man she had been dreaming of. We spoke about her vision for her day, and she knew she wanted a classic, elegant wedding with a neutral color palette. She said she wanted photos that were in the moment, nothing overlooked. I knew I could help her with that. I told her I would help them with the posed portraits, most people get so nervous that they won’t know how to act in front of the camera. That’s why you have me! I told her the best thing you can do is to just be fully present with the people you love, and I’ll take care of the rest. And she and Travis did just that. You can feel the joy in these photos, you can see the genuine connections. Emily & Travis let go of the stress and the expectations, and were able to just be. And that’s the best advice I can give any future couple.

Getting Ready

Moore’s Mill Club in Auburn was the perfect backdrop for their day. It was a STUNNING early summer day, although it didn’t start out that way! When I woke up that morning it was pouring rain, like seriously buckets. We arrived at the venue, started shooting details, and by the time I was wrapping that up, the sun started to peek out. We went from preparing for plan B, to not a cloud in the sky! Emily & her girls got ready at Moore’s Mill Club and the room was filled with excited chatter & anticipation. When it was time to get Emily into her dress you could see the emotion in her mom and sister’s eyes as they helped her put on the finishing touches. Her dress was the epitome of a classic southern wedding, exactly what she wanted.

The Ceremony

Emily’s vision came to life in the most beautiful way, with stunning florals from Nikki with Farmhouse Flowers & Events. Emily walked toward Travis, arm in arm with her dad, who would then officiate their wedding. I love when my couples incorporate extra meaningful parts in every part of their day, and it was so special to watch. As they recessed down the aisle you could feel the energy rise in anticipation of the party! And trust me, they knew how to party 😉

I had the best time on Emily & Travis’ wedding weekend, from rehearsal dinner (coming to the blog soon) to the final send off on wedding day, it was infused with intention, connection and beauty. I’m always eager to hear what my couples’ vision is for their wedding weekend and to help bring that to life. If you’re planning a wedding, I’d love to talk to you! Click here to get in touch 🙂
