Earlier this year I had the pleasure of photographing Hannah and Creed’s engagement session. I have always had a soft spot for engagement sessions- the anticipation toward the wedding, and the excitement of the season always fill them with energy and joy. This one felt extra special because I have actually known Hannah for years! I first captured her graduation photos a few years ago when she graduated from Auburn University, so getting to now photograph her engagement and upcoming wedding feels incredibly full circle. Watching clients move through so many important milestones in life is one of my favorite parts of being a photographer, and it’s such an honor to now document this chapter for her and Creed. Hannah and Creed are getting married this September, and after photographing this beautiful Gulf Shores engagement session, I already know their wedding day is going to be unforgettable. I feel so lucky to be a part of what I know will be an incredible day!
A Romantic Engagement Session in Gulf Shores
There’s something so timeless about a Gulf Shores engagement session. The soft coastal light, the relaxed atmosphere, and the quiet beauty of the beach create the perfect setting for photos that feel both emotional and effortless. Hannah and Creed’s session was exactly that.
This engagement session quickly became one of my favorites I’ve photographed in a long time. From the very beginning, everything felt natural. Hannah and Creed have been together since high school, and you can immediately feel the comfort, history, and joy they share together. Nothing about this session felt forced. From the way they laughed together to the quiet in-between moments, every photo felt full of movement, emotion, and connection.
We started the evening at Hannah’s grandparents’ beach house, which added such a personal and meaningful element to their photos. I always love when couples choose locations that already hold memories for them because it allows the session to feel even more authentic and connected to their story. After the house, we headed down to the beach for sunset portraits, and the Gulf Shores coastline absolutely showed off. The ocean breeze, pastel sky, and soft evening light created the dreamiest backdrop for romantic coastal engagement photos. Some of my favorite images from the session were the candid moments — walking barefoot along the beach, laughing into the wind, and simply enjoying being together.
