Steelwood Country Club was such a beautiful backdrop for Grace and Lake’s wedding day! Located in Loxley, Alabama, just a short drive from Fairhope, Steelwood has that classic Southern charm that I love so much. From the beautiful grounds to all the gorgeous little spots for portraits (and trust me, we took advantage!), it was the perfect setting for their day.
And as beautiful as the setting was, Grace absolutely stole the show. She was truly a vision on her wedding day, and the definition of a classically beautiful bride. But beyond how stunning she looked, I was so impressed by how calm, kind, and present she was throughout the entire day.
She was constantly making sure everyone around her was taken care of (including her vendors), and when little hiccups happened, she didn’t let them take away from the day. She stayed in the moment, soaked it all in, and focused on what really mattered.
When she and Lake saw each other for the first time, you could almost see them both melt a little. They immediately seemed more relaxed just being together, and it was the sweetest thing to watch. These two really understood the point of the day—they were getting MARRIED! Everything else was just a bonus.
It was also so evident how loved Grace and Lake are. The way their friends and family looked at them, the tender hugs throughout the day, and the way Grace’s bridesmaids hyped her up at every opportunity. Those are the little in-between moments I love getting to document just as much as all the beautiful portraits.
Speaking of portraits… THAT SUNSET.
Alabama really showed off for us, and we took full advantage. We snuck away for a few sunset portraits around Steelwood, and they are easily some of my favorites from the entire day. The light, the two of them, the joy after officially becoming husband and wife—it was just SO good.
