A Meaningful Newborn Session with a Family Close to My Heart
There is something incredibly special about walking into a newborn session and already feeling a connection. This sweet session was exactly that. I have known the Walters family for more than 10 years, which made documenting the arrival of baby Josie even more meaningful. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of capturing several milestones for them, and watching their family grow has been such a joy. Being invited back to photograph their newest chapter is one of the greatest honors of my job as an Auburn, Alabama newborn photographer.
Celebrating Baby Josie’s Arrival
Baby Josie was absolutely precious during her session. She was calm, content, and perfectly snuggled in the arms of the people who already adore her so much. There is something so beautiful about those first few weeks at home—the tiny fingers, sleepy stretches, and the way everyone naturally gathers around the newest member of the family. These are the moments that make newborn photography so special.
Capturing the Sweet Bond Between Sisters
One of my favorite parts of the session was watching big sister Kaia with her new baby sister. The love she already has for Josie was impossible to miss. Whether she was sneaking in kisses or proudly showing off her role as big sister, every interaction was filled with sweetness. These sibling moments are often some of the most treasured images from a newborn session because they capture a bond that is just beginning.
Why Newborn Photography Matters
As a newborn photographer, I believe newborn sessions are about so much more than documenting a baby. They are about preserving the connection, emotion, and relationships that make this season so special. Years from now, these photographs will serve as a reminder of just how tiny Josie was, how proud Kaiya felt as a new big sister, and how much love filled their home from the very beginning.
